A founding member of the Boston Area Coffeehouse Association (BACHA) the Linden Tree Coffeehouse, formed in 1985, has been located in the social hall of the Unitarian Universalist Church in downtown Wakefield. Annually there are about twelve acoustic music concerts featuring local and national singer-songwriters, playing a wide range of folk music from contemporary, traditional, bluegrass, and blues. Many of the coffeehouse regular patrons come each month because of the wonderful talent, friendly atmosphere, fresh coffee, and homemade baked goods. There are two to three hours of live entertainment for about the price of a movie. Performers like playing in the Linden Tree because of the quality sound system and because of the great audiences who make it exciting for them. Each concert is more like a party where people of all ages meet and enjoy each other.
