Inspired from the prompt “monuments”, I wrote this song after listening to the “1619 Project” podcast. Slavery continues to exist in many forms but I find hope in the Latin words printed on the back of a US dollar bill: “Novus ordo seclorum” or “A New Order of the Ages”, which the Founding Fathers would have likely found inspirational in their quest to establish a nation of laws and peace.
