It perplexes me that despite centuries of teaching the story of Moses and all he endured to provide people with guidelines to live by, we as a society still struggle to abide by those simple rules. I believe that humans were bestowed the gift of choice and we, through our choice of actions, determine our own fate.
Lyrics
Ancient land
Aforetime
An infant child is rescued from the Nile
As a man
He fought for right
Killed a pharaoh’s guard to save a life
Through angry skies a holy voice
Did summon him atop
Of the Mount Sinai
Forty days and forty nights
The laws of men he scribed
On tablets two the sacred rules
To spare us from the ire
Into exile
They took flight
A burning bush that beckoned in the night
Promised land
Within their sight
The prophet led his flock to ease their plight
Through angry skies a holy voice
Did summon him atop
Of the Mount Sinai
Forty days and forty nights
The laws of men he scribed
On tablets two the sacred rules
To spare us from the ire
Brimstone and fire
Now here I stand
Through sands of time
Eighty generations passed in line
Ten commands
Still defied
Fate lies in the hands of yours and mine
Through angry skies a holy voice
Did summon him atop
Of the Mount Sinai
Forty days and forty nights
The laws of men he scribed
On tablets two the sacred rules
To spare us from the ire
Brimstone and fire
Through angry skies a holy voice
Did summon him atop
Of the Mount Sinai
Forty days and forty nights
The laws of men he scribed
On tablets two the sacred rules
To spare us from the ire
Brimstone and fire
